UNWRITTEN RULES

We've all heard the term, "All Boys Club" before. I think we know that it implies the existence of something that supposedly doesn't exist. Perhaps an organization or collection of individuals that have been elevated to that of unique privilege, and enjoy benefits and protections that may otherwise escape the common person. What about the reference to "Unwritten Rules". You know, expected actions, regulations and sometimes even "edicts" that are assumed to be common knowledge and govern how one should move about the cabin, yet remain unspoken. Do you know the unwritten rules that exist in your business and marketplace landscape? Do you believe that they do, or don't exist? Do these unwritten rules provide some with an unfair edge, while "good folks" like you would rather earn their advantage? Look, I'm not telling you to start paying everyone off, or to manipulate your way through, yet I am saying that you NEED to be highly aware of the expectations for access, passage and success in your marketplace. Because quite honestly; If you aren't going to pay any of the implied or expressed "marketplace tariffs", you better at least be proactively strategizing creative means and methods to combat, nuance, navigate or control these unwritten rules as it applies to your given situation. Not convinced that these factors are even worth examining? Like it or not, there is in fact a very strong demographic of Gatekeepers within the business landscape that are just posturing to see if you've done your homework and possess the capacity to navigate the Unwritten Rules. As you know, I believe in building a generation of Bridgebuilders that afford everyone who has earned it, equal opportunity to gain access to avenues previously protected by the Gatekeepers of this world. Therefore, let's all accept the charge of developing a keen awareness for reality's sake, and to place both ourselves and others in deserved positions of advantage.
